YEAR:  2005   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  LEADERSHIP OCALA/MARION YOUTH  
   
Description of Initiative:  
                   
The session is designed to educate, develop and motivate emerging leaders to be involved and committed to local                  
media and the opportunities of a career in the field of broadcasting.  On January 21, 2005, thirty-five high school honor                  
students observed the technology and excitement involved with local radio.      
                   
                   
YEAR:  2005   NAME OF ACTIVITY:   LEADERSHIP OCALA/MARION  
                 
Description of Initiative:  
                   
Industry leaders from various business areas experienced an insider's look at the usefulness of radio as an advertising
and public service vehicle.  They also received an unique understanding of the radio job market in fields of sales, 
programming and engineering.  On February 5, 2005, thirty-five individuals participated in forums, discussion and 
presentations.  
                   
                   
YEAR:   2005   NAME OF ACTIVITY:    LEADERSHIP OCALA/MARION PARTNERS
                 
Description of Initiative:  
                   
Community minded residents 50 years and over increased their awareness of local media issues and the potential
for internships and public service opportunities.  These thirty-five adults were encouraged to personally choose venues 
where they can take a more active role in meeting the challenges facing our community and in enhancing our quality 
of life through local radio programming.  This session was held on August 24, 2005.    
                   
   
YEAR:  2005   NAME OF ACTIVITY:  JOB & INTERNSHIP FAIR AT UNIVERSITY of FLORIDA
   
Description of Initiative:  
                   
Asterisk Communications was an active participant in the University of Florida's College of Journalism and 
Communications Job and Internship Fair, which is held twice per year.  The station Manager interviewed students 
who were interested in a career in broadcasting.  The other media attending were mainly from print and from out of 
town.                  
   
                   
YEAR:  2005    NAME OF ACTIVITY:  SPRING 2005 JOB & INTERNSHIP FAIR AT UNIV. of FLA.
                 
Description of Initiative:  
                   
The station's General Manager and News Director interviewed students who were seeking employment and internships
at the Spring 2005 University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Job & Internship Fair.
                   
                   
YEAR:    2005   NAME OF ACTIVITY:    ANNUAL JOB FAIR AT SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
                 
Description of Initiative:  
                   
Asterisk Communications, Inc. was part of the planning committee and a co-sponsor for the Job Fair at Santa Fe
Community College.  We promoted the event on the air.  Other sponsors were the Society for Human Resource 
Management and Gainesville Chamber of Commerce.  The General Manager and News Director met with applicants at 
the event.  As a result of this initiative, one applicant was hired in September.
